WHAT

AYM San Diego’s Youth Tech & Design Masterclass is a 2-day program from July 27 to 28.

Our goal for this program is to help high schoolers learn tech and design skills. There will be workshops taught by UCSD and SDSU alumni from companies like Google, Amazon, Lytx, Intuit, AMN Healthcare, and more. See below for more details.


AYM is a non-profit Christian youth mentorship organization passionate to see youth grow in their faith. AYM has a chapter in San Diego. The camp is run by college students and alumni from UC San Diego and UC Berkeley.

  • Coding Project

    Learn to make a tic-tac-toe and Snake game from scratch in this workshop utilizing JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Firebase.

  • UI/UX Design - Portfolio

    Learn the basics of UI/UX design culminating in creating a portfolio showcasing your own designs.

  • Women in Tech

    Learn about the experiences of women in tech as they share their stories and experiences.

  • What is Scrum?

    Learn how developers manage their work using scrum. Scrum is a lightweight framework that helps people, teams and organizations generate value through adaptive solutions for complex problems.

  • Industry Professionals Panel

    Hear from professionals currently working in tech domains like software, engineering, and UI/UX about their experiences in their fields and what advice they would give to aspiring stem students.

+ What is the schedule?

The Youth Tech & Design Master Class starts at 10:30 am (PDT) and runs until 5:00 PM. For a general schedule, please see above. A finalized schedule will be sent to students and parents closer to July.

+ Where should I drop off my student?

Malamud Room / Institute of Americas, on the UCSD Campus - 10111 N Torrey Pines Rd, La Jolla, CA 92037

The Master Class is free

+ WIll there be housing provided?

No, there will not be any official housing provided.

+ Do I need to bring my own computer?

Yes. Please bring a laptop if you own one. If you do not, please email sandiego@areayouth.org and we will try to find a laptop to accomodate your needs.

+ Are you offering rides if I cannot drop off my student?

We are not officially offering transportation. Please email us at sandiego@areayouth.org for more information.
